Everyday routines, one step at a time

A routine they can see.
A world they can grow.

  1. Make it yours

Grown-ups create a child’s profile, choose a routine, and adjust its steps and schedule.

  2. Follow the next step

Pictures, read-aloud guidance, and a focused Now/Next view help children see what comes next.

  3. Watch a world grow

Each completed step adds to an illustrated world. Finished worlds become visits in a personal storybook collection.

Built around your family

Structure, with room to make it your own.

  • Morning, bedtime, and custom routines with editable steps.
  • Separate profiles and routines for each child.
  • Help and undo when a step needs another try.
  • Seven illustrated worlds, from Mushroom Village to Tidepool Cove and Firefly Hollow.
  • Saved storybook visits and a favorite world to return to.
  • Printable routine cards and world keepsakes, shared by a grown-up.

Designed to support children’s independence, without timers, streaks, or pressure to keep playing.

Why we designed it this way

Growing independence.
With a grown-up beside them.

Everyday routines give children chances to practise doing things for themselves. Sprout is designed to make the next step visible, leave room for choice, and keep help close by.

A next step they can see

Predictable routines and visual cues can help children understand what happens next. That’s why Sprout pairs pictures with words and offers a focused Now/Next view, with the full routine always available.

Small choices that belong to them

A few manageable choices give children a way to participate. Grown-ups set the routine; children can choose a woodland friend and, when enabled, pick between two worlds before they begin.

Help is part of learning

Doing something with support still counts. “Help, please” invites a grown-up into the moment, and undo makes it easy to revisit a step. Sprout doesn’t treat an assisted step as a lesser achievement.

Progress without pressure

Each checked step adds something to the world, making progress visible. There are no timers, streak penalties, or sibling rankings. A short routine can grow a complete world, and the celebration ends with an invitation back to life off screen.

The child-development ideas behind Sprout

Our design draws on guidance about visual supports from Head Start, routines and independence from the American Academy of Pediatrics, and clear directions and limited choices from the CDC.

These resources inform our design choices; they have not evaluated or endorsed Sprout. The app is still in development, and its effects on children’s independence have not been measured.

A quieter kind of app

Your family’s routines stay yours.

Profiles, routines, and progress are saved on your device. Sprout has no advertising, tracking tools, or account sign-in. Grown-ups choose whether to export a printable card or keepsake.
